Happy 2010

Life

2009 was quite a whirlwind. I switched jobs and switched coasts. In the past year, I believe I grew as both a designer and as a person. I gained a better understanding of the things that are most important to me in life. I further explored creating my own style and artistic approach as a designer. I also learned that fitting everything you own into a 12′ x 12′ x 6′ area in the back of a moving van is harder than it initially sounds.

I’m excited to see what 2010 has in store.

If you’re reading this — Thanks! I wish you all a happy and prosperous new year!

Moving to the West Coast

Life

Well, it’s almost here. Tomorrow, I board Virgin America – Flight 363, with service from BOS to LAX. Some time around 10:45am PST, I’ll be touching down in Southern California. This will mark the first time I won’t have a return flight booked to fly back to the place I’ve called “home” for most of my life, Massachusetts.

There’s so many things I’m going to miss about Massachusetts, and while I really (really) love lists, I won’t bore you with a self-indulgent record of those now. I will however say that my family and friends top (and probably fill) any list I could possibly compile.

Fauxlaroid

Ah, the 80’s. A time when the only worries I had in the world was “Will I be home in time to watch G.I.JOE?” A time when hair was big, music was cheesy and Don Johnson was the definition of “cool“. A time when you didn’t have to view your pictures on you iPhone, because they instantly popped out of your Polaroid camera.

My Favorite Podcasts

Life, Tech

Ok. I’ll admit it. At times, I can be somewhat of a podcast junkie. So much, that I usually prefer to listen to podcasts in-place of music, on my 45-minute commute to and from work […]

Interviewed on SWD

Design, Life

This past week I was interviewed by the good folks over at Spicy Web Designers. Luc Arnold and the rest of the SWD crew run a fun little site where they interview designers from around the globe. SWD features some of the hottest web design talent around the world and strives to showcase them and inspire others with what is possible in the world of web design. I thank them for the opportunity. I posted a transcript after the jump, but be sure to check them out at spicywebdesigners.com

Election Day

Life

Today is a day of great importance. Today is the 2008 United States presidential election. Today is the day that we as US citizens decide who will lead our country. No matter what the outcome, this election is groundbreaking.

I voted this morning at 7:45AM. The entire process took less than 10 minutes, it was almost too easy. Today marks the third presidential election that I have taken part in. Whether it’s your first or your fifteenth, I urge you all to let your voice be heard.

Take part in this election. Take a picture. Remember this day, for it is a historic event.

First post!

Life

Ah, the launching of a new on-line entity. It feels like I just did this, not all that long ago. However, we all enjoy change, me especially. The need for change along with the yearning desire to build my site on the WordPress platform, resulted in what you see before you. As I write this I’m still working out a few kinks, but most everything should be working properly.

Portfolio? Check.
Blog? Check.
Twitter
& Flickr feeds? Check and check.

So yeah, all seems to be ready to go. However, this site will be forever evolving. I’d love to hear your comments. So if you have a minute or two, hit me up or leave it in the comments below.

Until next time.
